Synopsis

In this sequel to Beggars in Spain, genetically engineered SuperSleepless have retreated to a hidden island enclave while American society fractures into idle "Livers" dependent on nanotechnology and overworked "donkeys" who keep the infrastructure running. When the SuperSleepless release a world-changing technology, the fragile social order threatens to collapse entirely.
