Synopsis

Serialized in three parts in Analog magazine from December 1963 to February 1964, this early version of Dune follows young Paul Atreides as his noble family takes control of the desert planet Arrakis, the sole source of the invaluable spice melange. When betrayal devastates his family, Paul escapes into the desert and begins his transformation among the native Fremen people.
