Synopsis

On a distant planet, humans live alongside the Ariekei, aliens whose unique Language cannot express lies or metaphor. When a new ambassador’s speech causes the Ariekei to become addicted to his words, the colony descends into chaos. A novel about the nature of language, communication, and what happens when words become weapons.
