Synopsis

HARLIE is a sentient computer whose creators at a major corporation must justify his enormous cost or face having him shut down. As HARLIE grows in intelligence and self-awareness, he raises unsettling questions about what it means to be alive, forcing his human caretaker to defend the rights of a machine that may have become more than the sum of its programming.
