Synopsis

When the dragonriders of Pern rediscover the ancient artificial intelligence AIVAS in the ruins of their ancestors' landing site, they gain access to technology that could end the deadly Thread menace forever. But as they work to implement a daring plan to alter the Red Star's orbit, powerful traditionalists threaten to destroy everything they've achieved.
