Synopsis

Six nested stories span centuries, from a nineteenth-century Pacific voyage to a post-apocalyptic future, each interrupted at its midpoint and completed in reverse order. A notary, a composer, a journalist, a publisher, a clone, and a tribesman are connected across time by recurring themes of predation, freedom, and the power of storytelling.
