Synopsis

Louis Wu, a bored 200-year-old adventurer, is recruited along with a motley crew to explore an enormous artificial ring encircling a distant star. The Ringworld is a ribbon of land millions of miles wide with a surface area equivalent to three million Earths, but its builders have vanished.
