Synopsis

Inspector Tyador Borlú investigates a murder in the city of Besžel, which occupies the same physical space as the city of Ul Qoma — yet citizens of each must carefully unsee the other. When the case leads across the border between the two cities, Borlú confronts the mysterious force called Breach that enforces their impossible coexistence.
