Synopsis

At the court of Louis XIV, natural philosopher Marie-Josèphe de la Croix tends a captured sea creature that may be the key to immortality. As the king and the church debate the creature's nature, Marie-Josèphe discovers it is intelligent and forms a bond that puts her at odds with the most powerful men in France.
